It cant be that good for the brain, but a lot of boxers with long careers behind them, speak remarkably well that you couldnt tell they get punched in the head for a living.

Wladimir has been ko'ed enough and he still talks pretty good as does Paul mallignagii, no stuttering anything. Haye has got the gift of the gab as well as do many boxers.
But when someone does sound punch drunk occassionally and it is rarer now, it is obvious and stands out a mile.

in the professional game is where you will find the vast majority of your damage occurring. the amateur game is geared around safety and you will find it's damage to the mind more similar to pee-wee football than to professional boxing. Professional boxing sheds a horrible, misguided and unjustified light upon amateur boxing, the 2 are like night and day..........Rockin'

It does but boxing is safer than many other sports in terms of head trauma. On this site boxing was so absent from the top 20 sports likely to get you brain damaged they felt an inclined just to add a paragraph bashing boxing for no reason.

True but just because they speak remarkably well doesn't mean they don't suffer from brain damage.

everyone suffers from brain damage to some degree. if you ever had a concussion or drank alcohol you are braindamaged.

the issue is when you do too much, take alot of punches to the head over a long period of time or drink on a regular basis for years.

if you are a good boxer, meaning schooled in the art of hitting without getting hit you should be fine unless you fight way too long. you can take alot of shots and get knocked out without any noticeable effect, everyone has their limit though.
