Comments Thread For: Killing Time Until Coronation: Matthysse Destroys Dallas

By Cliff Rold - The best Jr. Welterweight in the world might be a man from Argentina without one of the major titles. So far, the major titlists have seemed perfectly happy keeping him away from the opportunities. It remains to be seen how long they can run.

They can’t hide forever, not if 30-year old Lucas Matthysse (33-2, 31 KO) continues to perform as he has in scoring five straight knockouts after a disputed decision loss to Devon Alexander. On Saturday night at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Matthysse needed only one round to stop 26-year old Mike Dallas Jr. (19-3-1, 8 KO) of Bakersfield, California. Lol I like the title of this article. Garcia can't run forever. Tell you what tho, Matthysse ought to be make some fans out there in Vegas performing the way he is. First vs Ajose and now vs Dallas.

This shouldve been said after the destruction of Ajose but unfortunately Ajose's skills are very unappreciated around here. The guy Garcia avoided for quite some time.

Ive watched Ajose fight plenty of times,he was highly thought of for years in the UK and alot of people tipped him to be a world champion but due to politics and corruption of the wbc he never got his shot and was thrown in there with a beast like Matthysse and rubbed out of the equation....

To me Danny Garcia is just keeping the belts warm for Lucas,

But will Lucas ever get his shot thats the question, will they do the same to him as they did to Ajose.

            Wel see

Oh I know certain people know about Ajose and what he's about but to the majority of the people Ajose is a nobody. Its sad what the WBC did to this guy. Had Ajose beaten Morales or Garcia it would've made him that much bigger then you would've had Matthysse beating him making Matthysse THAT dude at 140. Instead now we're stuck with this guy Garcia just cause all of the sudden he wants to claim PR.

The Racket Squad: Gracias But No Gracias

Garcia wants to keep the belt for awhile.
Lucas can be a fighters worst nightmare. Mike Dallas learned that lesson and will probably never be the same because of it.

I do not anticipate either recently crowned Garcia, Danny or Mikey, stepping up to the plate anytime soon.

The Mayweather foot and blue prints are quite visable in the Sands this game rides upon.

These guys have Stars, PPV's and cash in their eyes, not the prospect of facing the best.
This sport is no longer about that ethic for far too many.

Its unbelievable that Ajose was wbc mandatory for three years and even when the title became vacant they brought in Cesar Cano as an opponent for Erik Morales when in right it should have been Ajose.Ajose then took it upon himself to crash Garcias press conference and call him out and still wasnt given a shot.No doubt Matthysse deserves his position but the wbc have ways of getting rid of mandatory challengers just like they did Ajose.

I think Danny Garcia would prefer to fight Amir Khan instead of Matthysse
