very interested to see how he does as a pro best amateur fighter in the world but that does not mean much in the pro game

Looking forward to seeing Vasyl as a pro. I have little doubt he's going to make some noise.

He already fights semi-pro(no headgear) and he looks very good unlike other top amateurs that performed in semi-pro and looked average(Rashee Warren).

Rigondeaux has shown that dominance at the amateur level doesn't necessarily transfer 100% to dominance on the pro level. Lomachenko does have youth on his side though, unlike Rigo.

So he has years ahead of him to learn more and make any adjustments.

Something else that's strange: that "semi-pro" thing. It seems like a waste of time. It's pretty much what the name implies: amateur style rules with no headgear. Lomachenko could've finished his opponent in the fourth, but the ref stopped the action and gave the guy a standing eight.

Anyway, thanks for the vid, man. I'd heard Vasyl was gonna do this semi-pro gig. I didn't know he was already into it.

Vasyl will do very well as a pro. As you say, he's young, so he has time to adapt. Lomachenko also has a very pro style. He's clearly an admirer of Mike Tyson.

I'm so excited! Lomachenko is the most decorated amateur since Rigondeaux, and still young and fresh. I'm pretty sure he will become a big player in the professional games as well.
I hope that the other Ukrainian Olympians, like Denys Berinchyk and Evhen Khytrov, make pro debut.

FYI according to the commentary this was his very first fight in WSB...so first time no headgear...

With that in mind he didnt look bad, for a first "semi pro" fight I'd say he did quite well........and even those it says 8oz on those gloves they look like pillows.

Its funny you said this because when I first made a thread about how Vasyl moves and is heavily influenced by Tyson I got nothing but negative feedback. Glad to see someone else has seen what is blatantly obvious.

If Lomachenko's chin holds up in the pro ranks, he is going to be hard to beat. Can't wait to see him in action.

I feel like I'm the only one that thinks he could be a KO waiting to happen. Hopefully he has a good chin, but he has that southpaw brawlers tendency to square up and step in together too much as he punches, which leaves his chin very exposed in the exchanges. Victor Ortiz had/has the same problem, though his is way more pronounced and he should always have stayed a righty. Makes me wonder if Lomachenko is a converted righty?

Hopefully he gets a top pro trainer in before he starts that will see it and fix it up right quick. Apart from that one glaring flaw I can't wait to see this guy in action. He looks great.
