Comments Thread For: Shields Talks Mayweather-Guerrero, Donaire-Rigondeaux

This weekend, former welterweight contender and trainer Ronnie Shields will find himself inside of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as he will be guiding twin brothers and junior middleweight prospects Jermall (10-0, 6 KO’s) and Jermell Charlo (19-0, 9 KO’s) into battle.

Also working with the likes of junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara and super middleweight prospect Edwin Rodriguez, amongst others, Shields has a nice core group of fighters that keep him busy throughout the year.

Charlo brothers will be a a pretty good fight. Both are taking a step up in opposition. As far as his views on Guerrero...i agree is gonna be a good fight, but i dont think mayweather wants a pressure fighter. He will be countering but everyone knows that! Guerrero will be ready for that!

I think Guerrero will be a tough fight for Floyd and Guerrero is going to go balls out to try and beat the best fighter in the world. Floyd just has to be Floyd and be quick, sharp, mentally focused and make the necessary adjustments. I just do not see Guerrero bringing anything Floyd hasn't seen before, I'm sorry. He has fought bigger, stronger, faster, tougher and better skilled fighters before so I guess it is Floyd's fight to lose, not Guerreros to win. I think maybe people put too much into that Berto fight...I like Berto but he is just done. I don't know what happened to him but just like in the Ortiz fight, he was shook and hurt in the 1st round and just never recovered. That is Berto's achilles heel, he just has no recuperative powers, he cannot recover from being hurt. Guerrero was tough in that fight but Berto fought a HORRIBLE fight, his strategy was total garbage. First trying to use the shoulder roll which he was unable to then just sitting on the ropes for the whole fight letting Guerrero tee off on him. I don't think Floyd will stop Guerrero but I am going with a UD for Floyd or maybe if some cuts happen, a late round stoppage for Floyd. I am just hoping he is still sharp after being in jail for 3 months.

you are pathetic and still butt hurt from pacquiao being put to sleep. on top of that. you are jealous of mayweather and hoping the samething happens to him like it did to ducquiao. don't hold your breath chump. mayweather's not one dimensional. he can do it all defensively and offensively.
