Williams' trainer I think is the same trainer that trains the fighter from my student film. I am interested to see Williams progress. But, I don't see him as welterweight champ anytime soon. really I doubt he'll ever win it. not to diss him. Definitely going to watch for him.

Baldomir following in the footsteps of Monzon?

      Carlos Monzon

      Won 87 (59 KO's) Lost 3

When you hear Carlos from Santa Fé, it's a clear reference to Hall of Famer former middleweight champion Carlos Monzón. Now, perennial welterweight contender Carlos Baldomir finally gets his title shot at the Madison Square Garden against Zab Juddah, hours before the eleventh anniversary of his idol tragic dead.

Its difficult to explain how Baldomir hasn't fought for a world title yet, after traveling around the world and scoring many big wins on the road. Frank Olsen and Hassan Al in Denmark; Alpazam Aguzum (twice) in Germany, Joshua Clottey in England, and more recently his eliminator win over Miguel Angel Rodríguez in Chicago. Also some draws in South Africa against Dingaan Thobela and in Mexico with José Luis Cruz. Many focused in his 9 losses, which happened at the early stages of his career, some of them, in controversial decisions and others were avenged.

Analyzing that, there should not be any doubt that the 34 year old deserves his opportunity and has earned it the hard way, beginning as a journeyman and beating the odds. Its hard to find out another contender in any division who can match Baldomir in terms of merits.

He has a very low profile that has kept him in anonymity even in his homeland.

"I'm most recognized in Denmark, than in my own country" once he said, probably referring to the massive attention other fighters had, like Jorge Castro, Jorge Barrios, Pablo Chacón, etc, meanwhile his great wins abroad were overlooked by the media.

"When we went to Rome in 1970 with Monzón, nobody gave him a chance against Benvenuti, the same will happen this time" says Hall of Famer trainer Amílcar Brusa, the mentor of Monzón who in his 80's is energized to be an inspired guide for Baldomir and his chief second.

"Judah had difficulties with Omar Weis and Baldomir is a very good boxer, and is ready to pull an upset".

Monzón was also a completely unknown.

Judah may be difficult to deal, specially in the first three rounds, however Judah could get overcofident and careless with the need for an impressive outing before in his mind the guarenteed mega fight with Floyd Mayweather. As the fight progresses, and the veteran Baldomir gets the timing, he will give the champion troubles, with his poisoned counter right, specially if Zab is unfocused.

Despite his greatness, Monzón was similar to Baldomir and in the 1970's could never match the charisma of Nicolino Locche or Oscar Bonavena, but is still the only Carlos from Santa Fé.

Can Baldomir follow him into his footsteps?

I'll make a points bet of 10-1 for Baldomir to Win.

So if I bet on Baldomir 1 point and Baldomir wins I take 10 points but if I lose I only owe the 1 point I bet to whoever takes the bet that Judah wins.

If I win I take 10 times the points I bet.

Any takers and if so how many points ?

Long Live Argentina and Carlos Baldomir !!!

GREAT Fight !!! Thank God for honest Judges.

The "press core fake judges" disrepected Baldimor with their scores.

This fight has prove that Boxing is for the BEST BOXER not the Hyped man.

The complete disrespect and disdain Zab showed was de****able.

That has been Nullified by this Great Win by Baldomir.

              No rematch.

              Baldimor should face Mayweather next.

I did not see your bet offer Flipside before the fight...however Baldomir has proven to be a true Boxer and should face Mayweather.

Your right it probably will not happen immediately.

                    A Great Night for Boxing.

Carlos Baldomir is a True "Cinderella Man" of Boxing
