Roach has gotten the most out of Chavez that anyone can possibly get. Chavez has no talent at all and with Roach's guidance has shown improvements
I agree. The only thing going for chavez is his size. And he cant stay at MW forever. He moves up a divison and gets destroyed. And kind of hard to train a boxer who decides to stay at home and do it himself. Doesnt matter who trains him, hes a bum.
well you know how roach's fighters just take what they are given and dont ask questions
Are we supposed to assume you have no animosity towards roach considering your avatar? We get it kid, I mean its pretty damn evident as is your judgement of anyone associated with pacquaio would be in this tone...again i'm not speculating the avatar shows pretty much why bro..just sayin'. Ironically you've said nothing about the actual fighter himself whose responsible for what he does in the ring and prep for his own fight.
JR definitely has a bunch of enablers around him FFS.
When he first got with Roach there was a dramatic improvement, it was really obvious. Now you might think he's still garbage as he exists today but just imagine 10 fights before that, or 10 fights before that, when he was just a stick. They changed his whole body and had him resembling an actual fighter, but that is when JR himself was actually WORKING HARD. He needs to be back in the gym with Freddie as I type this and make it up to his coach for making him look like a chump in all of this.
Had he gone through a legit camp and got blown out like that then fine, but at least change your half of the equation and start putting in the work again.
the ideal team for chavez jr would be alex ariza and robert garcia. imo those guys would keep chavez jr as disciplined and in shape as anyone can. i'd also advise him to move up to 168. arum can probably entice pavlik to come out of retirement, and if chavez can get past kelly, i'd like to see him try and take abraham's belt.
Fact remains best payday he's got is Martinez, and he will get in there take another azz whopping and that'll be the end of it. The kid due to his size should be at 175 fighting the Dawsons and Pascals (the latter which I think he could beat) but it would require he ups his stamina (which we know isn't happening..he's getting ass left and right and his ass blown full of smoke). Chavez could've made a career off his size alone but he let Martinez get in his head and took a fight everyone associated with him knew he wouldn't and couldn't win. I'll actually gamble for the rematch and my money is on Martinez dropping him in under 6, he'll come straight forward the first three rounds tire out and spend there more rounds trying not to fall.

Dude if honoring his legendary last name isn't enough to make him force himself to be more discipline and dedicated to the sport those two people certainly won't make a difference nor will anyone else.
