I defended Arce that night (I gave him the benefit of the doubt) but after seeing his interview talking about "Ill rematch him this and that" then not even mentioning a fight vs Rojas again I had to put two and two together.

Always liked Arce... he came to fight, and put on a good show. Didn't always win, but still gave a good accounting of himself. I agree with Corso, give him a fairly easy fight against some popular local who isn't that experienced. Good crowd, good win, good paycheck, then retire on a positive note.

Arce never should have retired anyway. He was never going to beat Donaire, and that's fine. There still are guys that he can beat. He's fighting way out of his weight class as well. Arce deserves to be praised, and not mocked, for his bravery.

Good call. I by no means meant to disrespect. Arce is a warrior with a stellar career. But when a boxer says the fire is gone and that's it, I would like to see them stay retired.
