hes bigger, sure, but hes not a weight class bigger. and thats what u fools dont seem to get. both floyd and manny are wws. floyd is a medium sized one and manny is clearly a smaller one. but both are wws. u cant really complain about one being too small for 154 and then say the other isnt. neither belong at the weight. neither.

Even between 2 welterweights there are size advantages. Margarito was bigger than Cotto. How much more of an advantage would Floyd have over Marquez??

That's the fight I'm referring to, none else.
Come on man, that was just a little joke.

Seriously, I agree 100% that floyd had the size advantage in the fight. That said, he didn't impose that size to win the fight.

If they fight again, floyd will have the size advantage. If he uses it, then the fight will end early and brutally. He just isn't ****in with floyd. Period!!!!!!!

As for the floyd/jmm fight-floyd didn't use impose his size to beat him. He boxed. He used his reach-which is going to be the same whether he weighs 130 or 170.

Moving forward, please, please- don't take what I've said for one particular fight and try and extrapolate it to the whole boxing universe.

you don't have to beat somebody up brutally to have your size impact a fight. marquez' punches were nothing to mayweather. he was too far away and they were coming from too small of a man. he batted them away or blocked them easily. a fighter who is that good defensively has a much easier time against so small an opponent.

the styles were bad for marquez, he was aged, but he size still had a huge impact on the fight. marquez punches were like bee stings on floyd's rolled shoulder.

Why didn't Floyd fight Pac when everyone wanted to see that fight? It would of been for the RING belt correct?

If Floyd is so great then why not fight for the RING belt at 154? I mean he is ranked #1 over there as well right?

I take it he's going to wait for the ones at 154 to lose and get credit for it in a fantasy setting.

                  i can respect your points.

Yes the styles are a bad matchup. IMO, speed and reach, which floyd used to block his punches and fight from a distance are variables that wouldn't change regardless of the size differential in this fight. The distance more than floyd's size IMO, reduced the impact of the punches.

SO unless JMM grew longer arms, no matter the weight, he is always doomed vs floyd.

if that makes u happy. but this is boxing. if u are gonna twist a fact that makes little difference, u are being untrue to the sport. there are weight classes for a reason. and in the grand scheme of things 1 or 2 lbs is bigger but what matters is the weight class. dont be an ass. wayy too much of that nonsense around here nowadays.

Mayweather is going to fight for the Ring belt, either in May or later this year, when he and Alvarez fight. Which is ridiculous, but then again the Ring has become ridiculous.
