Like Pavlik or not he had a decent career

His only two losses were to future Hall of Famers(B Hop for sure, and pretty sure Sergio will be there when he's done). He KO'd mostly everyone he faced with a few exceptions, and he didn't have too many boring fights.

People will get on him for his pullouts, and he deserves it. He had a lot of potential to be a Middleweight, SMW Gatti, with more talent, and it went unfulfilled. But at the end of the day 40-2(36 KO btw) who's two losses were to elite fighters is nothing to sneeze at. Give the man his due.

I agree with you, he had a decent career but never deserved the hype that surrounded him for so long. He had a terrible showing against an aged Bhop, there were of course the bronchitis excuses. Not sure how much truth was in there but his two wins over Taylor were good and he did indeed have exciting bouts. A good fighter but nothing more.

He's had the same run as Miguel Cotto, basically.

I still remember Pavlik vs Taylor like it was yesterday. What a fight that was. I'll always remember him for that fight.

I knew that would elicit some insults. Of course I don't mean literally the same run, but in terms of being world champion, vacant titles, etc. and the way their careers have ended / fizzled out.

Damn I remembered thinking at the knock down JT had the fight in the bag.

That war with Miranda was classic too. I never thought Pavlik would be a champ, dude is built like a pencil and was probably the strongest guy in the division.

Pavlk was a good fighter he earned his hype with some good wins I thought Miranda was going to destroy him he proved me wrong then he beat Taylor twice and he gave Martinez a good fight up until the cuts so overall yes he had a decent career

Of course Pavlik had a more than decent carrer, he was clearly hoverhyped but still he was very gifted and gave us some classics. He seems to be a very nice guy too. I have no bad things to say about him and I hope he'll enjoy his retirement with his family.
