  • Worst performance of all HBO fighters last night = Gabriel Rosado

I thought Rosado put on the worst performance of the night out of the 3 main HBO fights that I tuned in to:

Roman Martinez vs. Juan Carlos Burgos
    Gennady Golovkin vs. Gabriel Rosado
Orlando Salido vs. Miguel Angel Garcia

Out of those 6 boxers Rosado performed most poorly in my opinion. He was in there with Golovkin so this is probably why he did so badly, ducking and diving nearly all night with barely any offensive output.

I was kind of rooting for Rosado in the fight, only because I usually root for the underdog, but this kid didn't impress me much. For all his movement and evasiveness (which was the only impressive thing about him) he still just ended up being a punching bag for Golovkin.

HBO should give him one last chance to fight, next time against a lower level but still decent opponent. If he fails to impress again it might be time to take him off TV and give someone else a chance?

he hasn't failed to impress these past two years...

he limited his offense because he was getting hit extremely hard every time he opened up...anyone with an eye or two and decent knowledge about the sport couldve seen that

No... Rosado was finding his groove. I mean he started doing a little better till he got clipped with that uppercut. He gave a valiant effort. Unlike Garcia, when Salido was finding his groove and the tough got going, he quit.

Rosado was punching well above his weight and class and showed a tonne of heart.

He WAS landing punches as a massive underdog, I thought early on his gameplan was solid. He seemed really well focussed and defensively sound.

Fundamentally it was just him fighting a better fighter on the night.

I'd personally say Salido performed the worst, buzzed by every shot Garcia landed, no real way of getting inside sensibly which resulted in him being off balance a lot, and he only won one round. I expected that fight to be a lot closer.

Hmmm.... I though that Rosado did much better than I expected. Showed ton of heart and will. Blaming him for running all night is massively underestimating what GGG was doing to him. If he wanted to to make it easier (Rosado) he should have stand in front of Gennady and trade with him. It would be painful but fast. After he felt GGG's power he still wanted to try and win. So he was trying to take Golovking into later rounds hoping he will get tired so Gabe would have a chance of doing something. So it was painful and prolonged for 7 rounds.

Mr. Philadel. I'd like to ask your opinion about GGG after this fight. Before you didn't rate him at all (so it seemed from your posts)

                Thanks

GGG is a good defensive pressure fighter Rosado was moving waiting for openings to counter GGG provided no openings but in the middle of the
ring he exploited GGG lack of head movement some landing some jabs right hands and left uppercuts I thought he fought a good fight Salido gets my vote
