Do you know boxing at all?

If a fight is stopped by the doctors because of punishment inflicted by legal blows then the guy who has the broken nose loses.

If a fight is stopped by the doctors because of punishment inflicted by an unintentional foul, after 4 rounds it goes to the scorecards.

That's not an important distinction for you?

A doctor's job is not to see if the boxer is taking punishment because of punches or headbutts, his only job is to protect a fighter, period.

The decision of who wins or loses is taken in this case by the referee. If the ref thinks the fight was stopped because of an accidental headbutt, then they go to scorecards. If he thinks it was an intentional headbutt, then it's a DQ. If it was because of a legal punch then it's a TKO, and if it was because of an illegal punch then it's another DQ.

All those decisions are in the rules and depend on the REFEREE decision, not the doctor.

The doctor can only say if a fighter is able or not to continue fighting, that's his only job.

Now I'm going to ask you the same question. Do you even know boxing at all?

Do I find it kinda odd and strange the fight ended the way it did? Yes i do.

Do I see the reasoning behind the fight being stopped? Yes I do.

Garcia was fighting great. Then the butt happened = Nose got broken.

Now if the fight was allowed to continue and a good punch on the nose at some point after suddenly caused Garcia's eyes to blow up and close, where do they go? What if he could no longer breath due to that foul, then opens his mouth to breath, gets clipped in the jaw and gets his jaw broken? That could turn out to be a complete mess and even a far worse controversy.

I will sum this up to be one of those oddities the sport sometimes sees. The butt looked intentional and not intentional at the same time. I think Salido was trying rough up Garcia and looked to make contact to see if he could throw Garcia off his game. It was a calculated risk that did cause an injury. He did it by an illegal means. Sh|t happens

Noses get injured in every fight. Why is it ok to end the fight now? Not calling Garcia *****, just saying it makes the guy look pampered when they pull him out from a nose injury, the one part of the body in boxing that you KNOW is bound to get busted up throughout your career.

Funny how this poster wants others to respect a certain fighters abilities and show homage to his talents!! Yet in his avitar he has a top ten generational fighter shown in a demeaning pose and is demonstrating the same ignorance he wants abolished!!!

Its the refs call (fare or foul) and the commissions ruling on the outcome!
