that's about it? what about his balance? what about his footwork? what about his accuracy?

it's amazing to me how little people know about boxing and still feel they need to have an opinion on a fighter...I saw a brilliant pressure fighter who fought a guy planning to fight the fight of his life...until he felt ggg's punches

neither would I...a lot of people go on boxrec and think wow angulo and mediocre fernando guerrero beat this guy so he must not be that good...

rosado is about as different from his former self as a welterweight pac was from a featherweight version of himself...he planned to be slick and counterpunch but from the moment ggg planted his feet and threw with force rosado knew who he was up against

I wasn't surprised at all about the way this fight went nor am I surprised about people downplaying this victory...even though unjustly so

here is chris byrd talking about golovkin. i pretty much agree with everything he said.
mark my words and quote me on this at the end of 2013...ggg will be just as impressive if not moreso against top 10 mw's

I hope he gets to fight macklin, geale, barker and quillin...he stops all of them. I'm sure arum won't put chavez jr in with ggg

if SM beats him it'll be the hardest fight he's ever had

Not that impressed with Ward. He has good skills and defense but thats about it, he cant punch and is boring.
Golovkin dont belong at 168 though, hes to small. And he has not the best defense. But if he could move to 154 he could fight Canelo or Trout, verry good opponents. At 160 he could also fight Pirog, a verry good fighter, or a big fight against Martinez or chavez Jr.
He should not move to 168 before improving his defense.

It really is surprising how few people seem to understand and be able to appreciate the game of boxing (thought it’s not a game at list for those two who are in the ring).

Many say about weak defense of GGG - would you notice that he wasn’t hit at all in first couple of rounds? Than when he felt that Rosado can’t hurt him (many on this forum where saying that Rosado has the power to KO him) he became less careful, willing to take a punch to land his own.

Many say his power is overrated. It’s very hard to hit hard against a constantly moving target and Rosado was running as soon as he felt first couple of punches. However – take a look at his jabs in this fight. He was moving Rosado with his jab. GGG had to punch while on the move without being able to plant his feet solidly. Still there was enough power to batter Rosado’s face into bloody mess. Rosado is a really tough guy with big heart who likes to trade and is coming forward. Not in this fight. Reason? He felt Golovkin’s power.

Take a look at balance – all time great trainer ES was considering it as one of the most important abilities of successful fighter.
            Etc., etc.

Hope he fights soon with Quillin, Geale, Barker, MacLin and than time for big fights with Chaves Jr. and Sergio. I don’t give much chance to all accept Sergio who I rate very highly. If Sergio wins it will be his toughest win. Thing is he’s a bit chinny and GGG will be able to land here and there (if not more often than many expect) and I don’t think SM will be able to take it. Quillin and Geale would be best so GGG can collect their belts. Than Chaves Jr. and SM wouldn’t be able to say that he’s nobody.

The reason I say that he has no defense is because, as much I like gabby you can see he was intimadated from the beginning, his was throwin his punches with stepping into them, now ggg power has a lot to do with this, but there is another level of fighters who will show less respect and really expose his defense liabilities, what ggg has is good foot work and good chin so far!

                Here's some examples:

JmH Reborn: "I hope HBO is as eager to pick up the pieces once Rosado beats the hype out of GGG"

                Cupocity303
TEAM DISCIPLINE: "This. From what I see from Golovkin, he is just another Joel Julio/Kirkland/Angulo type hype fighter, waiting to get schooled by a decent fighter.

HBO is just jumping on the train because they're dying for a Mike Tyson-esque great fighter, who is not a boxer but a come forward knockout destroyer, and it aint gonna happen."

There where many other similar predictions... Where are those analists now?
in THIS sport...dudes with common sense tend to judge fighters based off of who and when they beat certain fighters...if a fighter is knocking out C minus class opposition his whole career...its safe to say that fighter is a C class fighter until proven otherwise...the problem is, young dudes fall in love with fighters and drink the fool-aid they're given by Max and whoever is in charge of controlling the kid's thoughts...the tag ELITE has been thrown on so many fighters that its crazy....smh

so the Rosado fans was supposed to sit back and let the kids talk down on Gabe just because they think the other dude is this killer they've been sold...smh..c'mon man, you sound hyped about nothing!!

I'm russian and I used to box a little bit when I was younger (42 now) so I was fallowing Gennady from amateurs. From that time I knew that he's for real. I'm actually glad about all that hype machine sorrounding him now. Many hard core fans don't like this overhyping (because they saw it before with bad results) but it may make him well known and help make some good money in big fights.

But there is no money in a GGG fight...none...zero. Martinez just came off a ppv w/ jr....I doubt he goes backwards at this point. either way he bludgeons the **** out of ggg.
Martinez just took a step backwards fighting his next opponent in Argentina... Whoever he is. No money in a GGG fight? The guy just had 2 HBO dates and I guarantee will get another date so yes there is money in that fight.

Watching the fight again golovkin showed really good footwork!!! His positioning was really good, but his defense is going to cost him against the top fighters but he is an exciting fighter who will always have a punchers chance, so I wish the kid the best!!! The kid destroys Chavez jr!!!!
