Or maybe alot of the opposition he was looking to fight, already had su****ion that he was a cheat. Being a complete one dimensional, ugly fighter, and a fighter no one truely wants to see in the ring against truely skilled boxers. so Tony lobbied the WBO formally to grant him a rematch with Williams
they did so and installed him as the mandatory
but Williams said no and insisted on taking an optional defense instead
he wound up losing to Quintana, then winning a rematch
after that, Williams wanted a rematch
but Tony was pulling Oscar's punk card and ignored him

Nah. Mayweather wanted to fight Oscar De La Hoya. Bob Arum would guarantee the money for that fight along with others so Mayweather bought out his contract and the rest is history.

Margarito was poorly promoted while being a tough SOB. He had that one moment in the sun against Cotto but just couldn't win the big ones otherwise. Getting caught with that plaster-like substance sullied his rep and once Mosley cracked that chin, he was done for. I guess the myth of being feared is something to hold onto when the resume is "meh" and you're esposed as a cheat.

And the point to fight some one with one dimension of fighting, while trying to prove you are the best boxer wise of knowledge/style; does nothing for you as a boxer.

Margarito is and always will be the most overrated Mexican boxers. Thought by most, that his whole career has been fraudulent; yet questions a posed about who ducked him. No True Boxing Fan Should Care About Him. He is a cheat who possibly destroyed others careers because of his lack of confidence and lack of heart. No man who cheats in such a way should ever be praised by any one.

You're welcome. And inb4 someone says "Arum pulled some strings". I don't buy that Arum has that much power. And since the CA Athletic Commission found Capetillo responsible, Arum could've easily had Capetillo take the blame and paid him to keep quiet in a criminal trial. No need to try and bribe anyone in a position of authority (especially since Arum has been penalized for doing that in the past). But charges were never filed. Why?

You are aware that Arum was able to get this guy a license to fight again after Margo should have been banned from the sport. Next, he even got Margo licensed to fight Cotto in New York when a big hoopla was going on about Margo's eye being damaged. Truthfully, Margo definitely shouldnt have been fighting Cotto in that condition.. But good ole Bob got it done..

I will not put anything past a guy like Arum, who use to be a lawyer in his own right.. You would be foolish to do the same
