Why should he take more of an "azz kicking"???? Um, because kicking azz is what the sport is all about. A couple of months ago against Pacquiao, Marquez was arguably in worse shape than Chad was when he made the decision to act like a fighter and look what happened. Find a different sport if you can't reach down and look for something that you don't think you necessarily have.

The reason for Montreal is obvious. Not only is it a guaranteed sellout, there's Canadian and HBO TV rights fees in play.

As far as "quitting" goes. Why should he take more of the azz kicking that he was receiving? For the sake of some Dumb fan "valor"? He took a gamble it failed you move on.

It's funny how people want fighters to take ALL risks but at the same time if they "lose", then they were "dumb" to take that risk.

LASTLY Pascal can thank his head more than anything that saved him in their last fight. He was out on his feet about to be finished off when his head caused the gash on Dawson's eye.

Good post all around. Dawson's conduct in pursuing this fight was everything you want in a fighter, except for smart and realistic.

Chad was almost at weight on Wednesday before the fight - he looked flushed and healthy, and didn't need any IV like De La Hoya. Plus, Oscar was a part-time fighter from the Floyd fight on. Chad was in his physical prime.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be rooting for Chad vs Pascal (as I was vs Ward), but he has a head problem...to the point that Floyd Sr. said he thinks he may actually be "******ed" (his words, not mine). I don't think anyone will be mistaking Sr for a psychologist, but those Mayweathers do know boxing, and they do know how a special fighter should act. Chad quit out of frustration, and because he had no plan from the first round.
