I will be excited when I see them in the ring in May. In the meantime 4 months is a long time for Kessler to get injured.

This is kinda like when I didn't think Haye would sign for Klitschko, but even after the fight was announced I wasn't excited. I waited for the fight to happen, and it never did due to an injured toe.

Nowadays getting the contract signed is only half the battle.
Kessler has had a lot of injuries over the years and fought through many of them. His back was a mess before Mundine. I've seen the surgical scar on his right hand. This is a big one. He'll make it.

Froch himself was making comments about Kessler not being a warrior if the deal fell through. So there was reason for skepticism with how long the negotiations were taking.

Glad the fight is finally on, though. Hopefully an American TV network will pick this up.

Indeed. I just thought some of the wild leaping to conclusions was funny. A U.S. network will grab it. There's plenty of options.

This may be better than the first fight. Looks like Kessler has improved with Montoya as head trainer. Froch is a beast though. We will have to see how this goes. Definitely looking forward to it.

You would hope they learned their lessons passing on Froch-Bute.

Specifically Showtime really screwed up with Bute. Paying him for too many fights that weren't competitive, not getting the one they really wanted, and then passing on a perfectly good alternative.

We know you are one of them.

Are you suggesting Kessler will pull out? Is this because of the countless times he's done it? Or the countless times he's cancelled a fight due to injury? Give a man his probs. they are both fighting the best out there.

Bound to be a great fight but the only thing it will unify is the number one contender slot. Andre Ward is the champ, period.

                      Great fight. Competitive on paper.

That being said, Froch TKO10. I personally feel Kessler has eroded a bit since being battered by Ward, and going to war with Froch the first time around. I also feel that the Froch who faced Kessler and the Froch who's faced Ward, Bute etc are two different fighters. Froch's defense has vastly improved, so has his footwork, as well as his overall technical ability and accuracy. I could be wrong, but I feel early on the fight will be a bit nip and tuck, and down the stretch Froch will find his range, and will start hurting Kessler with those explosive lunging punches. Then, Froch rallies, and starts unloading on a withered Kessler against the ropes. TKO.

Just my opinion. It's just that to me, Kessler just looks to have lost his technical proficiency, and seems to have lost his speed and his combination punching fluidity he used to have as well.
