Before more of you *** off on Wilder.
He quit basketball and football scholarships because his baby daughter was sick.
A major part of why he fought so many for small paychecks was because he didn't want to risk the step up without enough experience.. because for him it's literally his daughter's life on the line
The little girl she gave birth to, Naieya, had spina bifida. Doctors said she might never walk.
This was not part of Wilder’s plans.
No matter, he told TODAY: “I always have a backup plan to keep me going.”
Accepting his responsibility as a father to a little girl he loves dearly, Wilder had to drop out of school and give up on his football/basketball career to pay for the huge medical bills stacking up. Fighting often and getting a small but helpful paycheck is what kept her going for the last several years.
2013 is going to be his step up
but LOL at the haters hating on a guy who's daughter can't walk
Fuking morons

Wilder is a person still learning in every fight, because of his lack of amateur experience; he continues to fight to learn. It is not at all uncommon in boxing for late comers in the sport.
Unlike others who have extensive experience like Rigo, or Ward; they gained boxing experience, then turned pro, and fought for a title relatively early in they're Professional Career.
Wilder is still gaining experience. Which is difficult when you knock out every single opposition you come accross but if his promoters feel he has a lot of potential; why ruin his learning experience. Let the man, learn his sport and then see if he will conquer the division.
