    Strange thread.

Surely Tyson transcends accomplishments in the ring anyway? Yeah, he never had a great standard of competition in his prime, and he never came back from adversity to win, but for a long time he practically WAS boxing. Anyone who can keep the sport on the map for their presence and impact alone has to be HOF regardless of what they did or didn't do between the ropes, no?

Anyone who was at one point considered the p4p best boxer in the world also deserves to be in the HOF.

He had the potential to be the best heavyweight ever, but he lacked the most important intangible. HEART

I agree, he surely had little, if any, heart.

I'm sorry for the flaming. I guess I just fail to see Tyson as two separate individuals like you all do. The 80's Tyson who was a beast and the other Tyson who quits every time his opponent stands in there and ****s with him. I have never and will never respect quitters, and that's what turned me against Tyson. Getting knocked out is one thing. Giving up is another entirely.
