He was past it. 02-06 IMO was his prime. Look who he fought after Williams. Tune-up Golden Johnson, rematch w former victim Cintron, and he was supposed to lose to Cotto cuz he was seen as being past it and Cotto was supposed to be the next big thing.

Who did he fight in his prime? Anyone he could. Floyd, Zab, Spinks, etc.. all ducked him.

I dont know why people rate him at all, All his wins were on steriods, off them he gets beat by mora, runs from pacman, gets a prison beat down by the hype canelo. he nothing in this sport with his steriods.

because cotto fans and floyd fans think with with vagina rather then in boxing sense.

so he only had 4 years prime starting from when he won a vacant belt and the last year of his prime being when he fought a top fighter
                right...

because he was ranked top3 in the division when he fought both guys you don't think beating the #1 guy in the division should be thought of as a big win?

Then loses to Vernon Forrest x2. Beats shot Vargas 2x. Loses to Winky x2. Shoulda lost to the Oscar rematch. Beats mid-tier guys like Collazo (good win IMO), Estrada, etc.

Then lets Cotto squeak by him then looks like ass vs shot Mayorga.

Then has his best win since Oscar, an already beaten fighter in Margarito. Shane is really lucky Margarito came in mentally fucked from what happened in the locker room.

Then it's all downhill from there. He was already gonna be used as a stepping stone for Berto, had a full training camp, then Floyd steps in, has another training camp and looks like ass. Has a TERRIBLE fight vs Sergio fkn Mora, looks like ass vs Pac and Canelo.

I don't see how this guy is so great above LW. He lost every single top fight he had. Oh, and he's a proven cheater.

                  Discuss, gentlemen.

Basically. I may be off a little with the dates but his style of fighting doesn't last too long. Especially with the amount of punishment he absorbed.

I'll give you Cotto, he was coming off the Collazo win but against Fraud he had fought once in 08 vs Mayorga, once in 09 vs Margarito, was already a stepping stone for Berto until Floyd stepped in. How is that a good win for Floyd? Shit, I've seen people say that's Floyd's best win! Just ridiculous.

Very good fighter, explosive, but just short of elite level. He did take on anyone, and has to be given credit for that.
