It sucks to have shot Roy as one of your best opponents, and then you have to debate people over it.

But, but, but, he looked great against Tito!

why are you listing roy jones as if it's a great win for calzaghe? and you list hopkins for calzaghe yet not marquez for john or pac for bradley even though those were all terrible decisions. biased garbage. all those guys you listed are the same. play it safe cherry pickers that avoided many fighters to stay undefeated. no respect for that.

As far back as we have a history of fighters, fans always hate and look to discredit those who consistently win and do so easily. There's nothing fans hate more than a guy that makes it look easy.

Joe Lewis - "Fights the bum of the month!"
Marciano - "Only fought old guys!"
Ali - "Division is shamefully weak!" (Yes, thats what people said at the time)
Julio Ceaser Chavez - "Cab drivers!"
Larry Holmes - "Division is weak!"
Tyson during undefeated run - "Division is weak!"
Calzaghe - "Only fights old guys!"
Wladimir Klitschko - "Division is weak!"
Lennox Lewis - "No chin! No heart!"

There has never been a champion that went undefeated for an extended period that got any credit at the time outside of maybe Sugar Ray Robinson. If a guy is winning easily, people will say "When is he going to fight someone good?" regardless of the competition.

Case in point; look at Manny Pacquiao. He went from being the rags-to-riches darling of boxing fans in 2009 to one of the most disliked boxers in this site by 2011. Why? He kept winning wide UDs.

Joe was no spring chicken himself when he fought Roy.

Only people who lack boxing IQ point to age as a defining factor.

How old was Vargas when he was shot? How old was Hopkins still fighting at an elite level. It's not age, it never has been.

Jow will never be above Roy on ANY ATG list... ever.

So you can have your little win.

Show me where Bradley, John or Ottke was ever ranked #2 p4p in boxing as Calzaghe was when he retired?

"He came into my dressing room before the Roy Jones fight crying his heart out because he saw me get knocked down against Bernard Hopkins a couple of months earlier.
"He had also spent the Jones build-up watching footage of Jones' glory years, when he was at his peak, on You Tube.
"Connor was sobbing 'dad, he is amazing' and I tried to reassure him 'don't worry son, Jones isn't that good anymore.'

Boxing is closely associated with battles and and aggressive human nature. People want fighters to go into battle and either came back with their shield or upon it.
