Guerrero because he is the veteran, knows how to fight inside, outside, box, slug, etc. And can adapt in the ring throughout the fight. He will make it a hard fight for mayweather win or lose.
I honestly just see canelo getting potshot to death. He gets hit to much and plus we haven't seen him against anybody that is top 5 in his division.

clearly Canelo is, just like the poll indicates. although you have some floyd fans who voted guerrero just because it's likely his next opponent. when floyd has two choices, an easy cherrypick or a decent fight, it's common knowledge he will choose the easy cherrypickings.

I think Guerrero is a tougher fight because Guerrero man just has that dog in him. Ya know. The dude had a rough come up, fights through anything. We've seen him in adversity, we've seen him beat dudes up, outbox and outlast. We haven't seen anything from Canelo to suggest that he even belongs in with Guerrero tbh. Yeah he's big and strong. But he fought Cintron and Mosley back to back, fighting one shot to **** fighter and instead of moving up the ladder, fighting someone even more shot to ****. That just tells me that he isn't ready for the big boys. Guerrero is.

If Canelo can beat Trout, and really win. Not a hometown/GBP "win" than my answer will change. I think Trout is the man at 154 (unless Mayweather is not fighting there anymore)

          Why?

Canelo needs more experience. How can we have threads about Canelo saying that he needs to step it up in competition and other threads saying he is a big threat to Floyd? Canelo needs more time. If I were him, he actually should have had a fight in December/January. Young fighters should fight often if they are winning their fights relatively easily.

Guerrero: What has Guerrero done at WW? He had a tough time in his first fight there and his fight against Berto was not that easy either. Just to know that Guerrero felt like he had no choice but to stay on the inside with Berto puts questions on his ability to fight on the outside. For example, do you think that someone like Floyd would feel forced to fight on the inside because he feels that his skills are not going to be enough to handle the opponent? I don't think so. Berto was hitting Guerrero with some heavy shots. If Berto started sooner or if he had connected a tad better Guerrero could have been knocked down.

Secondly, Guerrero beat Berto in a hard fight. Ortiz did that too. Is that all that is required to face Floyd? Beat Berto? Well, it didn't help Ortiz as he hasn't won at WW since then!

How many more times do we have to see Floyd in with guys that need more time at their respective divisions? I have seen this movie before and it always ends by saying, that the loser wasn't ready to fight the winner.

Don't get me wrong. There is potential in them just like Ortiz had the potential but by using that word "potential", it usually implies that you need to give them time and activity in the ring before facing someone of Floyd's caliber. Only with time can we seriously say, yup they have a real chance of winning.

Now it's all about hype. NOTHING MORE!!!

          .
ADPO2 please take this kind of shyt somewhere else bro no offense. This thread isnt about your agenda its a simple question asking who gives Floyd the tougher fight between the two. Save this nonsense.

Id have to say Canelo. My 2 eyes tell me that Canelo is a better fighter than RG is. He has size, strength, patience, speed, poise and power. And youth to boot.

With RG hes closer to Floyds size. That face first Margarito style won't work against Mayweather and if he tries to box like he usually does he'll just get picked apart.

Canelo atleast has some equalizers like size and power. Hes green and who knows how he reacts when the lights are on and 2 Million people are watching your every move. With that said Canelo gives him the tougher fight imo. I honestly don't see Floyd breaking a sweat against RG. Hes going to brutalize RG with ease.

            guerrero by far....

guerrero is able to adapt in the ring... hes smart, technical, he can fight inside as well... good volume... southpaw... hes got all the tools to give mayweather a tough fight.

on the other hand... I cant say much about Canelo except that he hasnt done much... anyone complaining about Floyd no fighting Canelo is mistaken... Canelo hasnt done anything in his career to merit such a high profile fight.... how can anyone who claims to have knowledge of the sport say with confidence canelo has tools to give mayweather trouble... fact is there is nothing in his resume that would lead me to believe he poses any kind of threat to floyd... dont even say power... i think his power is hyped up and untested.

                Canelo

Legit 154 power, good combination speed, youth. Quite inexperienced though against someone like Floyd. But sometimes age overcomes skill, especially with fighters who rely on reflex / timing.
