They both scored knockdowns in that round and it would have been up to the judges to determine who won the action in between; or who's knockdown was more damaging. The winner of that round should have been given 10-9.

I would say without knocking down the fighter who knocked you down the best a knocked down fighter could hope for is an even round if he beat the fighter who knocked him down from pillar to post in the remaining portion of the round.

A KD is 1 point, he reason that a round is usually scored 10-8 when a knock down occured is because it is very rare for a judge to score a round to a fighter that was KD, but it has happened before. And yes you can win a round if you have been been KD, by returning the KD, a KO, giving the opposing fighter a standing count, or as it said above in someone else's explanation, be given 2 points for a really dominant round.

Yes, one of the judges completely ignored the officially called KD in round 10 of pac vs mosley. So it's been done before. However, the most likely outcome would be a 10-9 in favor of fighter B in you scenario.

2 of the official judges gave the round to williams and the third had it a draw. obviously this makes no sense since martinez dominated the round and knocked williams down 10 times harder but corruption is corruption.

Ten-point Must System
