if so, why do you think he's insisting on demanding for it?

JMM by himself does not put fighters in the seats. He thinks that because he has some belts and most boxing fans know who he is that he is worth a lot of money, but he will soon realize that when he has a chance to fight a real fight for short money of more than $1,000,000, it is a lot better than getting the lions share of the purse for $25,000.

See also: Winky Wright turns down ~$3,000,000 to fight Trinidad, wants $4,000,000, would get about $500,000 elsewhere. What was that guy thinking?

hes got the belts that manny wants. to have the chance to fight for them first hes gotta fork over the money. he may night put fighters in the seats but hes mannys toughest challenge between the 3 M's IMO so y shouldnt he get more money?

I guess he deserve more than what's on the table. But over half a million more than Pacquiao? Probably not. Remember that Pacquiao is probably the main attraction. And after all, this is boxing. Belts sometimes don't mean a lot in terms of money. I think there is some jealousy going on how Pacquiao and Barrera are getting more attention.

It's similar to how Winky wants the same amount as Trinidad because he holds the belt. I mean look at the Hopkins-DLH bout. Hopkins is the champ but he got less money. If I were Marquez and so confident on beating Pac, then he should step up because he'll be making a lot more if he's successful. But from what I understand, it's Marquez who wants more money to begin with, his manager advise to.

if u were fighting pac would u want more money? pac is dangerous for the whole 12 rds. winky/trinidad is diff. winky still hasnt proved anything. he beat mosely well mosely isnt a big puncher anymore and he still hurt winky. think of what trinidad will do to him..

So I guess it's an insurance. Because Pac is a big risk. And if he gets beaten, at least he has money on the way.

Well, I guess there's no point. It seems that there won't be a Marquez-Pacquiao bout. At least not in Feb.26. Although I still am keeping my finger cross till the contract is signed. Especially with Arum involve.

I think JMM deserve to have at least the same amount of purse as PAC, he earned it from the last fight, but if nobody wants to shell that amount for him he should accept what is being offered...

and maybe the reason he is insisting, its for his
