Comments Thread For: Yuriorkis Gamboa Reaffirms Interest in Broner Fight

Yuriorkis Gamboa was ringside at the Magic City Casino in Miami, Fla. for the debut of the 15th season of ESPN's Friday Night Fights. Gamboa lives in Miami and was there to support his fellow countryman Rances Barthelemy, who fought in the main event.

Gamboa returned after a 15-month layoff in Dec., outpointing Michael Farenas on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez 4 undercard. ESPN's Bernardo Osuna asked Gamboa about his future plans and the Cuban now campaigning at junior lightweight and fighting under the banner of 50 Cent's SMS Promotions reaffirmed his interest in a high-profile clash with Adrien Broner.

Well I'd sure as hell rather see Gamboa than Gavin Rees.

Stop lying Gamboa. He should be looking to fight Gary Russell Jr. or someone smaller. Broner puts this little dude in a coma.

Gambia gets destroyed via his own sloppy do or die defense...Broner is not as fast but just as accurate with better defense and more power...gamboa is done and they will really hype this fight up with a 50 vs Floyd thing...will they have a double feature 24/7 in the future with Broner/Floyd vs Gamboa/Canelo?

Gamboa hasn't a chance vs Broner. Poor defense, less power, less accurate, and much smaller. There is no reason this fight should come off tbh.

Edit: That said Gamboa can still rebuild his name, but this is not the way to try to do it. Broner has no reason to fight Gamboa. Broner should be focusing on clearing 135 and moving 140. He should look up towards bigger things not back.

Gamboa should focus on looking good in the ring and getting rid of the rust or whatever he was showing in there last time.
