    Trainers and Fighters ?

ok so if a fighter cant win the big fight does that make the trainer bad ? when a trainer gives his fighter all the tools he needs to win yet he does not does that make him a bad trainer ? when the fighter does all he can but still does not win does that make the trainer bad ? what makes a bad trainer ?

A good trainer is a trainer who can turn an bad fighter into a good fighter, and a good fighter into a GREAT fighter.

It was reported that Steward was a GREAT amateur, but I'm not sure if all of it is really factual. He could be just talking out of his arse, but Emmanuel without a doubt knows the fight game.

Cus made nobody's into WORLD champs so He is a great trainer.

Angelo Dundee generally taught fighters that were good even before him, so it's tough for me to rate him really.

Buddy McGirt seems like a pretty damn good trainer. I don't know anything about his fighting career though, was he a good fighter? His kiddo is a new professional right? I really respect Manny Steward as well.

James "Buddy" McGirt is a boxing trainer and former boxer. He was born January 17, 1964 in Brentwood, New York.

In 1988, McGirt defeated Frankie Warren, avenging his only defeat, to win the IBF world junior welterweight title. In his second defense, he lost the title to Meldrick Taylor. Three years later, he upset Simon Brown to win the WBC world welterweight title.

McGirt lost the title to Pernell Whitaker in 1993. The following year, he again lost to Whitaker in an attempt to regain the title. In 1997, McGirt retired with a record of 73-6-1 (48 KOs).

After his great career as a boxer ended, he became a trainer. McGirt, considered to be one of the best trainers in the world, trains many good fighters, including Arturo Gatti, Antonio Tarver, Timo Hoffmann, Mads Larsen and James McGirt, Jr.

Cus D'amato was a great trainer. A trainer can be crucial to a fighter winning. Look at Tyson with Rooney, and look at Tyson after Rooney, that should prove something right there.
