Marciano would dismantle every heavyweight alive today save for the Brothers K, and even those fights would be wars.

Size means less and less the higher up you go. Heck, Joe Louis often came in under 200, and he'd put both Klitschkos in a coma.

Would have been a nice win for him after Clottey beat Zab.

Because Ali is, resume or H2H wise. It's not even arguable.

Marciano was great and I have him in top10 all time HWs.

                Exactly.

Clottey was a good welterweight. Let's not forget, he had a close fight with prime Cotto, some thought he deserved to win.

Floyd should have been fighting guys like Clottey, Margarito, and Williams in 2008 instead of going into hiding for two years.

I cant get with that one. I think in this case people are Romanticising the past too much. neither joe louis nor marciano would be able to over come the reach of either of the Klits. Lets be real about this the weight divisions exist for a reason. Yes they were great in their time and given that the average heavyweight was around 200 lbs at the time it makes sense to say they were the greatest of their era.

Think about this george foreman in his prime was 6'4" 240 lbs so you really think a marciano or louis could have given up 5" and 50 lbs to foreman and still stood toe to toe with him? ( as neither were dancers)

Agreed! The fact the way Marciano faught, his head would be at the chest(taller), or head; which takes away from length and size. Frazier did it to Ali gave Ali his hardest fights (In their first broke Ali's Jaw) and Frazier did not have the chin Marciano had.
Marciano had a granite chin and dynamite in his fists. Not the fastest man but the toughest; and had an enormous heart!
