what makes winky and pbf defence so good ? do you rate them with pep and pernell whitaker ? from what i've seen yes they are good but not unhittable like sweet pea and pep were

floyds defense is his head movement. he moves his head just enough out of the way that punches miss him by mere centimeters.

winky's defense is his "columns" or his arms. his arms are long enough so he can pin his elbows against his stomach (high enough to protect his body, and his forearms and gloves cover the rest of his front, making a head on attack against winky useless.

but the kind of fighter that could beat floyd would be some1 like ricky hatton: he bulls his way in while throwing punches, and gets close enough to work the body and do some serious infighting.

the kind of fighter to beat winky, thats a tough one. winkys not really fast, but hes got good handspeed and good counterpunching and one of the best jabs in the business. maybe some1 whos faster than winky, better footwork, good skills. my pick would maybe be... de la hoya, maybe? winkys the kind of fighter where he has no glaring weakness. he has no flaw that you can exploit to defeat him.

Have u actually seen Willie Pep fight? I never have, and I have a huge video fight library with tons of fights. Have not seen the man fight though. What was his style like?

Anyway PBF is up there at least with Whitaker in terms of defensive ability and overall skill. Winky has great defense but not in the same vein as PBF and Sweet PEa.

cant say i have just talking about what i read about him . i dont think there is any tape of him actually. but wow you put pbf up with pernell they are a lot dif to me .pbf has good on the ropes def but pernell would just zig zag as they say out of the way no matter were he was.pbf is good but i credit him more with his speed and reflex in the open more then just great defence like the others had
