First of all, Im totally biased because Ward is my favorite fighter since a long time. The first time I saw him I thought well this is the future p4p champ.

I like him cause to me he is the most complete fighter in the game. Yes, even more than Floyd. Floyd can't rough and bully an opponent, Ward can. Depending on the fighter he's fighting Ward can switch from inside to outside fighting, agressive fighting to counterpunching and be patient. He has a good right hand, good jab, good left hook and underrated body work. Some people find him boring but for people how love the subtilities of the sport he's amazing to watch.

To answer the thread, yes Ward is sometimes "charging", but it's not in a ******ed way, he evaluates the right time to get inside and pick his shot. A young Hopkins was good at that too, putting pressure and coming close to you while breaking you mentally, I don't think it's "dangerous" as long as you have a fighter who keeps thinking and evaluate when it's the best time to get in.

He's extremely adept at taking away his opponent's strength and like Froch said, he's either too close or too far away, great at controlling distance. Never gets himself off balance and very difficult to counter. He isn't going to lose for a long time.

He doesn't charge in, he just keeps his chin tucked like you're SUPPOSED to do when throwing straight punches. ****** fighters like Amir Khan who throw punches with their chin hanging out, get KTFO. Ward doesn't. It's a fundamental mistake to do otherwise.
