Comments Thread For: AIBA Snubs IABF as Their Discussions Fall Apart

NEW DELHI: The international boxing association (AIBA) has snubbed the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) and said that from now on it will discuss the affairs of Indian boxing only with the sports ministry.

AIBA's snub came in response to a letter written by IABF's vice-president PK Muralidharan Raja to amicably find a solution and lift the ban on the Indian body at the earliest.

    WTF...

You can't really call that a "snub".
IABF wanted a formal meet, to try to lift AIBA's ban, and AIBA
simply refused. Its not like AIBA agreed and then stood IABF up.

Because (along with other sports associations in that country)
the IABF falls under Sports-Ministry oversight, AIBA's entirely
within their rights to restrict themselves to dealing directly with
    the said Ministry.

It's not as if IABF doesn't ALSO have to officially make things
right with their Ministry, after the IABF shitted all over the
sanctity of their own (and the Indian Olympic Association's)
    electoral process.
