As far as lighter weight fighters go, I must give a mention to 'Terrible' Terry McGovern and his intimidating "Reign of Terror" during the late 1890's/early 1900's, when he was blasting through a collection of solid contenders, reigning world champions, and even a couple HOF'ers (though there are many who consider the Gans fight to be fixed).

            1. Mug shot of Toney
            2. Toney squattin' on the pot
            3. Toney's *******
            4. Toney's gut hangin' over his protector
            5. Toney!

It's enough to make you run for the hills as your scream reflex is brawlin' with your gag reflex over the attentions of your regurgitation reflex!

              Some unmentioned guys:

John Mugabi...26 opponents, 26 KOs leading up to Hagler. Too bad the guy he got in the ring with that night was a completely fearless animal himself. He was physically imposing and just looked threatening.

Julio Cesar Chavez...Just his aura and reputation alone made him pretty intimidating for other fighters by the prime time of his career. He looked like a machine standing across the ring from his opponents.

Not the most intimidating maybe, but certainly scary guys to have to prepare for.

Pacquiao. Any guy who enjoys beating guys up as much as he does is intimidating.

Danny Green. He may be slipping, but he hits hard, and he just looks like an ass kicker, given his jet black hair and hooded eyes.

Alejandro Garcia. He may be overrated, but he just walks through almost everyone he faces.

                Mikkel Kessler. It's the tattoos.

Jose Luis Castillo. Discouraging his opposition is part of his game. Facing a hard-punching, never-say-die, in-your-face fighter is about as intimidating as you get.
