    your thoughts on butterbean??

Somewhere in 2003 eric esche(butterbean) joined K1 kickboxing organization and participated in an MMA fight against 155LB genki sudo.. I'm not kidding.
Oddly enough mike tyson was in live attendance for this fight, guess he was contimplating signing with K1 as fellow boxer and former champ francois botha has..
Anyway in the second rnd genki ended up ssubmitting butterbean on the ground..

Since then(earlier this month) butter bean was in another K1 fight which he ended up winnng by submission...

What are your takes on the transition from boxer to kickboxer or a boxer fighting with MMA rulse?? especially butter bean of all people..

Was he washed up in boxing is that why he made the transition??

I don't really know, but I dislike Butterbean. I dunno how he manages to fight, what with being 370 pounds of fat and *******.

I wouldn't call Butterbean a has been 'cause he never amounted to anything in boxing.
He was always the added attraction on PPV cards in the '90s and it's hard to define when he was in his prime, if he ever was.
Maybe he found another market to exploit in MMA fighting.

butterbean was a shame to boxing , but because he was used as a freak show.

he was a decent fighter with underrated power and some skills (good left hook)

his build is better suited for MMA and he takes one everybody everywhere , youhave to respect that .

i ve read he is retiring BTW

I don't think anyone underrated his power. The only reason he ever made it to so many PPV and televised fights was for a freakshow KO.
