If you don't have an extensive and successful long amateur career, you should think again. It's a hell of a way to make a living, spilling blood for the entertainment of savage mobs ho cheer you when you win, and curse you when you lose. And the pure dirt of the money angle....I refused at least 2 offers to turn pro, I didn't even consider it for a moment, and I had a very successful amateur career, when amateur boxing was like pro, except for 2 min. rounds and 3-4-6 rd limits. No headgear etc. and you paid for your own gear. And boxers were genuine good sports then, wouldn't take a mean advantage to win at all costs. It was a SPORT.Comment
