Comments Thread For: Abraham Not Ruling Out Pavlik For a 2013 Defense

WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (36-3, 28 KOs) has revealed that his promoters have started negotiations to secure former middleweight king Kelly Pavlik (40-2, 34 KOs) for a potential fight in 2013. Initially, Pavlik was set to face WBC/WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KOs) early next year, but the unbeaten champion suffered a shoulder injury and the bout has been eventually cancelled. Abraham is first going to have a rematch with Robert Stieglitz, possibly on March 30th or April 6th.

sounds like a good fight...they should've fought at 160 when both dudes were on fire...they were both better MWs than they are SMWs

Good fight. At this point in time I favour AA.

Bute and Abraham would make a great comeback year for Pavlik.

I hope that this fight gets made. It's a very winnable fight for Pavlik. He'll need to box well, weather AA barrages and be able to return fire with power shots of his own.

I remember when that duck parade was going on in 2008.

Calzaghe was ducking Pavlik, and Pavlik was ducking Abraham. Pavlik then picked Hopkins, which at the time was seen as a cherrypick on Pavlik's part. Little did he know he could had an easier time with Pavlik than he did with Hopkins.

Calzaghe ducked everybody though, Dawson, Johnson, Froch, Pavlik, Hopkins rematch. Everybody wanted him but he picked a shot Roy Jones.
