Golovkin will fight two more times then most likely fight Sergio next spring I expect. Sergio has three fights left on his HBO contract....Murray, Chavez Jr...then Golovkin in his last fight....which he will lose passing the torch to GGG. That's how I see it playing out.
HBO building Golovkin into Sergio fight...

I'm pretty sure Chavez isn't part of the HBO contract since that's PPV. In some other interview, he said his contract was for one fight in 2013 (Murray), and two more in 2014. He also said a Canelo fight would be hard to make because Canelo is on Showtime now.
EDIT: nvm, I'm wrong. Two in 2013 and one in 2014.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 12-26-2012, 09:44 PM.Comment

Eh, actually I'm wrong about the contract thing. Reheard it and it was two in 2013 and one in 2014. He said this in an interview on TV after the Murray press conference. I recorded the stream, but I don't feel like uploading it. The contract thing and the Canelo thing were the only note worthy things he said.Comment

unless golovkin becomes a big name in 2013, i don't think dibella would be interested in that fight. if martinez beats murray and chavez next year, he'd be big enough to have more than one option green lit by hbo. i don't think hbo would corner him into making the golovkin fight.Golovkin will fight two more times then most likely fight Sergio next spring I expect. does golovkin only fight twice a year too? if so, then he will only have one fight after rosado in 2013. hopefully it's someone like quillin or pirog. those are the two guys i want to see him fight outside of martinez. not sure if gbp is willing to put quillin in there with him, and god knows what pirog is up to or planning to do. hopefully he gets back into the mix.Comment
