Margarito was at best a B- level fighter. A nobody in the grand scheme of things.

De La Hoya basically had no problem with any Mexican fighter at all in his prime. He dispatched of all of them easily. Margarito would light work.

Any one who brings up Margarito's chin and stamina must've forgotten already that DLH had one of the best chins of his era and actually proved it by taking destructive shots by a prime Shane Mosley among other powerful punchers. Let's not forget how a 38 year old Shane Mosley cracked a 31 year old prime Margarito like an egg. He absolutely destroyed him, couldn't take Mosley's power for 12 rounds. DLH went 24 rounds with prime Shane.

Margarito may have moments, but Oscar would pretty much destroy him.

Oscar fades in the late rounds? He lost a close one to Mosley late but he stopped Vargas, Carr, almost stopped Quartey, and beat Whitaker in the late rounds.

He hardly fades late.

Yeah Oscar has already beaten better fighters than prime Margo. Vargas was a legit junior middle who wouldnt even be able to make welter, he was larger, punched harder had better defense and was a way better boxer than margo and was on roids. The only thing margo has over him is a chin and work rate but margo is so wide open for DLH's fast left hook and DLH hits harder than mosley. I see margo getting stopped, a good chin can only get you so far.

Margo's best win was cotto, which even ignoring the questions over it, is an ok win but the 147/154 divisions were much deeper when oscar was there

I cant imagine anyone with Mararitos dense surviving Oscars left hook. He dropped Mayorga with one punch who has as good of chin as Margarito.

That is based on hearsay on sparring sessions. Based on their actual record and the level of competition they faced, their styles and strengths and weaknesses, DLH would destroy Margo.
