Why is the 154 Division Gun Shy?

I won't talk too much about Saul Alvarez. Some of you already think he's a ducker. Others blame it on his handlers. Fact is it's the first division he has a major belt in but his record is lacking. Making a title defense against Lopez who hasn't even broken into the welterweight division yet?

I don't have much to say about Trout. He just fought one of the best in the division.

No one knows who Bundrage is, but he told Steward to only sign fights for him if they're big. He's picky about southpaws.

    James Kirkland is M I A.

Molina is trying his best. He has already fought Lara and Kirkland. Unfortunately, he suffers from being the Mexican without any backing--sort of like an early Marquez.

It seems the sole reason GBP signed Lara was to keep him away from Alvarez. I think Alvarez would push his **** in too.

Vanes is dispassionate about boxing and taking the Winky Wright career path. Turn down big fights even though no one knows me.

Cotto last two fights was against great opposition. He didn't come out on the winning end on either, so his leave is understandable.

Mayweather may never return to the 154 division seeing as he's really a welterweight.

I'm afraid this will end up like the 140 pound division a few years ago with Khan, Bradley, Alexander, Maidana, etc. There wasn't enough fighting among them, so no one was eliminated. It was like everybody is a winner as most of them moved onto welterweight.

They're all probably hoping they'll get a Mayweather payday if they just keep winning.

A lot of good potential fights that aren't being made. These contenders see what the top guys like Mayweather and Pacquiao do, turning down big name fights and cherrypicking, even though they are literally nobodies.
