how come canelo didn't show any interest about fighting trout after he convincingly beat cotto though? (canelo left the stadium after the decision was read) instead there was all this talk of making cotto vs canelo still lol...c'mon..he fought the winner of ortiz vs lopez, but he's not willing to fight the winner of cotto vs trout?

also this whole "he is just looking for the $$$ fights" excuse is complete bs...what has canelo done to deserve big paydays in the first place? for looking good against over matched and undersized opponents? usually you need to work your way up to those big money fights, but because canelo is the love child of oscar and sulaiman he thinks he can get a shortcut to the big money fights. complete bs......

He needs to fight Trout. There is no one else as deserving of the spot and no one the public wants to see him in against than against Trout. Actually prove you belong in the huge fights. Alvarez will fight another smaller fighter like he always does. That's why he was dying to fight Cotto, a small fighter that doesn't belong at 154.

I think Cotto being smaller has something to do with it but i think it is more the money that a Cotto fight would generate as opposed to a Trout fight (or anyone else at 154 for that matter). That being said I would definitely like to see Canelo fight Trout. Time to step up and take a risk for a change and prove u deserve that Mayweather money

Doesn't matter how much money the opponent generates because the fight is still a damn undercard. The fact is ginger & his choice of over-matched opponent has yet to make it to a headlining ppv.

Personally, I don't care which 154lber he fights. I'd even be satisfied if it was Angulo. I know he has no business in the ring with Trout. He'd get boxed silly. I can also guarantee that if he did fight Angulo, he'd get knocked out. I've watched all his fights. Josesito put leather on him, Gomez, Cintron & grandpa Mosley. None were as strong, big or as powerful as Angulo. The minute ginger gets hit flush from Kirkland or Angulo type of power, he gets slept.

c'mon..why did he cherry pick lopez so soon after the ortiz vs lopez fight? but yet so far no word about trout vs canelo being a done deal. you just have canelo saying something vague like "it would be nice to fight him"..well no ****. also why lopez when lara was clearly available to fight at the time, was he not? if canelo vs trout is a done deal for may 4th then GOOD...but i won't be surprised if he picks on another irrelevant and/or over matched opponent.

Boxing is a percentage game. The fact that the world is buzzing over ginger/Floyd basically guarantee's that golden boy won't put ginger anywhere near a fighter that they feel has a better than 10% chance of beating him. That means any top 10 jr middleweight is totally out of the question. In short, nothing changes.

I think Cotto would outbox Canelo over 12. I also feel Canelo beats Trout whose size and punch resistance beat Cotto as much as anything.

Closet Canelo fan here (GBP have made it nearly impossible to admit to being a fan with their woeful matchmaking) - Canelo vs Trout would be a heck of a fight. And I'm not sure what people are *****ing about - he just said he doesn't want to fight Cotto but wants to fight Trout.
