    Devon Alexander doesn't hire the judges, he just gets in the ring and fights.

    Bottom line, by the age of 25 he's fought Corley, Witter, Urango, Kotelnik, Bradley, Matthysse, Maidana and Bailey with Kell Brook coming up.

    I think his views deserve at least a little bit of respect.

      Nah, there are only 4 of you left.

      Most now know what boxing insiders have been saying for years.

        E = mc2

        The physics of boxing are the same, if a fighter hangs around the sport long enough he's going to lose, that's just the way it is and no one is above this law, not even Floyd Mayweather. Fighters get old and lose their edge, and eventually fall prey to previous foes that are still in the hunt. Marquez is a fighter, that even at his age is still competitive, while his rival Pacquiao has been sliding noticeably. It isn't a sin to slide, or a sign of weakness, it's just a plain fact of life. Fighters age differently and their cards come up at different times, so there is no hard and fast rule as to when you're finished. But when you're "finished," you're as done and dead as a bucket of fried chicken.

        I suppose that's why I've been so fascinated by reactions to Manny getting KO'd, because the obsession for the fighter seems to far outpace any concern for his health. His fans just want to see their idol do something to avenge a crushing defeat, they want Manny to show his former greatness once more. IMHO that won't happen, it could, I wouldn't count anyone out that's focused and determined but I don't see it with Manny. I see Manny taking a few more fights for the money and then calling it a day.

        The physics of boxing are dispassionate and real, fan frenzy blurs lines of perception but it doesn't reverse the fundamental truths of gravity.
