Sorry, he doesn't get a pass for that as much as he would like one.
Wrong,Arum still owes the man money and regardless of what he lies you want to believe he will not match his fighters up with anyone but top rank fighters unless he is forced to by the commission.not sure why you can not see that..SOON AS COTTO LEFT TOP RANK BOOM YOU GOT A FLOYD-COTTO FIGHT

Mosley had 1 loss in 5 years to Cotto which was close as hell, and was coming off of beating #4 P4P fighter Margarito. He was performing at just as high a level as Martinez was.

He wouldn't be fighting him at MW and you know this. He would fighting him at 154 or below. All Sergio has asked for I believe is at least 6 months (preferably closer to a year) to lose the weight in a healthy manner (especially if it is below 154). I would like to see Sergio have the chance to prove he could do this, while you would deny him even that from what I have read.

Who does Floyd fight after Canelo? Martinez is the most marketable opponent outside of Canelo as far as I can tell and given his status on the P4P lists this potential bout could come very close or maybe even surpass a Canelo fight if marketed right.

They're also both around similar ages, so they would both be taking a risk.

Also, Floyd is really obligated to fight no one, but why would he give a 22-year old that weighs the same as Martinez on fight night an opportunity at him even though he has yet to beat a live body, but not give one to Martinez when he is offering to fight below 154 even?

          It's not that simple
It's obvious that Arum does not want to deal with Mayweather and let's be honest besides Pacquiao, the other fighters at Top Rank were not the best fights there
Cotto turned down Floyd and then the Oscar fight happened which was better
Margarito was relevant for one fight and Floyd beat the guy that knocked him out
Floyd has taken on good opponents but certain people try to spin it so it looks like the TR fighters are the most feared around
It's a bollox for us fans that different fighters with different promoters means certain fights may never happen but sadly its part of the sport

But you were calling him to fight Martinez too, now you don't want him to? Why?

It looked like a great win at the time, but that was likely only because Margarito had been cheating. He got caught before the Mosley fight, so I do have to seriously question just how effective Margarito was without the plaster.

The Mayweather fight was 2.5 years after the Cotto fight, so Mosley was getting older as that time passed. Even the Mayweather fight was over a year after the Margarito win. He was not getting better with age as someone like Martinez seemingly has. His performance against Mayorga before the Margarito fight also wan't too impressive.

If Floyd wants to move to 160 and fight for the lineal title then that is cool,id love it..but he is not obligated to do it and at 154 it is pointless and means nothing

doesnt martinez have a fight coming up already ??? How was floyd gonna chose him over guerrero if he has a fight lined up????? If martinez was even an option his upcoming fight would be at 154... Let it go man, at ww there is no one else to fight outside of the ghost... Bradley is top rank so forget about it... I myself dont like it but its reality

Man oh man, you Floyd fans will NEVER EVER get it.

It's not because they weigh more its because of who is out there that possess the risk. Floyd avoids the risks especially now that he is trying to preserve his precious "0" losses.

Manny possessed a risk so people wanted to see that. Martinez also possesses risks because of his talents.

Floyd fighting Cotto after Cotto has been in so many wars and lost was not made because of the risk factor. It was due to the money factor. Prior to making the fight, even Floyd thought that Cotto was a flat-footed fighter that even lost to Clottey in the eyes of many. Only after the contract is signed does Floyd boost Cotto as an undefeated fighter. Of course, Floyd fans ate it all up because Floyd said it.

The Klitschko brothers have had very few risks recently because their division is so weak. So fighting a top HW contender does not mean its a huge risk factor. Similarly, beating even a WW champ that is named Baldomir falls into that category ..... but we all know that you are a Floyd fan that is trying to convince us that beating Baldomir was an awesome feat ..... lol!

Cotto, lost to several fighters prior to facing Floyd and also lost after that to Trout. What are you trying to prove again? lol!

Manny and Floyd fight did not happen for manny reasons from drug testing to stadiums being built to ppv splits so lets leave that alone.....and people said floyd was ducking cotto until he beat cotto now it is a cherry pick..Martinez is a middleweight and floyd is not obligated to fight him..if he does then it is a treat for the fans
