Froch (lost to every nonhype job he faced) and Kessler are Ward's best wins. Arthur Abraham was a 160 pounder moving up in weight for the tournament and never had much power at 168. Dawson was obviously weight drained and had been KO'd in sparring as a result by Miranda only one or two weeks before the fight. The Sakio Bika that fought Calzaghe and Bute (hypejob) was in 2006 and 2007 respectively and was only a decent contender at the time; Ward fought a worse version of Bika in what was actually a very competitive fight. I personally would have loved seeing Ward tested against different style match ups and would have loved seeing him fight one of the Dirrell brothers; a Rodriguez fight would probably be a lot more interesting than Pavlik though. Regardless, I respect Ward a lot and think he has a great resume and is deservedly a top five p4p, (he's actually one of my favorites and I would love to see him continue his success) but I hate it when people use him to bash on other fighters.I like how you list the weakest links on Ward's resume in his last few fights, what about Kessler, Froch Abraham and Dawson? Hell, even if you exclude Dawson because you ludicrously feel he was "drained" Kessler and Froch alone are top notch wins. You seem to focused on how many wins and losses a fighter has, yet that means NOTHING unless those wins and losses have come against credible opposition, which isn't the case with Barker, Murray and Macklin. Murray and Macklin both fought a past prime Sturm and did decently against him, but that's it. Barker was undefeated against complete tomato cans.
Are you seriously sitting here telling me that Barker, Macklin and Murray even remotely compare to Froch and Kessler? Hell even Bika is more proven against elite opposition given the fact he was competitive against Calzaghe and Bute, and if you were to ask anyone with any sense they'd tell you Bika is one of the most underrated fighters in the SMW division. Green, I completely admit is a B level fighter. But, a lot of people thought that was a competitive fight at the time. So, long story short, at this particular stage given Ward's age and small amount of fights, his resume at the VERY least is right on par with Martinez', if not superior. And, I like Martinez. Thought he was jobbed in the first Williams fight.
Me and you usually agree a lot on most fighters, we both are fans of Guerrero, but for some reason you seem to hate Ward, and your hate has seemed to reach insanely high levels of late. Why? Because he's receiving much deserved credit, just like Martinez does? Ward's earned the credit he's received the hard way, he went through a beast of a tournament that had over 90 percent of THE very best fighters in the division, as a green inexperienced prospect, and came out on top and won close to 90 percent of rounds in all his fights in the tournament.
Then, takes on Dawson who called him out in his own division, Dawson and his team talked a bunch of ****, said they were on weight with NO issues, and got absolutely embarrassed, dominated and stopped. Then cried "weight drain". Ward has less then half the amount of fights Martinez has, and has done atleast just as much as he has, and arguably more. I'm not discrediting Martinez whatsoever, but don't sit here and tell me Ward hasn't done enogu or hasn't done as much, that's absolutely ludicrous. Just sayin', I don't see why you constantly feel the need to discredit Ward and exaggerate by saying people claim he's the next SRR. No, they don't, they treat him like a fighter who is young, was inexperienced, and dominated elite experienced fighters back to back.Last edited by BafanaBafana; 12-24-2012, 04:32 PM.Comment

Dude, what the hell are you talking about???? If Manny fought both of those guys next I'd have no problem with it at all. Guerrero's a solid, strong champ, though he beat a Berto that Ortiz just beat down. Canelo is a solid, young, strong champ, even though he hasn't fought anyone yet. That's the honesty behind both of these guys, and I'm not mad at either Floyd or Pac for fighting them, that's all that's out there.Funny how so many in here, twist these things into their favor. I just enjoy poking at all the mushroom tip lovers on here. If someone like Manny fights Ghost or Canelo, then its "hes fighting a bum who beat a hype job in Berto, and an easy willing target with no defense whos protected by GBP, in Canelo". If Floyd fights them...."He's fighting a young hungry strong lion who is on the rise, and has tons of desire". You Manny, and Floyd mushroom tip huggers are too funny.
I'll save you the trouble of responding as i will respond for you. "(X) fighter WOULD NEVER fight someone like that, only Floyd would".
Only thing ******er is the morons who think that Floyd "ruins" every fighter.

EXACTLY, we don't know. So it's ridiculous for you or anyone else to say that Sergio has done everything he could to make the fight. Who gives a **** that he tweeted Floyd? Thousands of dweebs tweet Floyd all the time and they get ignored, twitter is not where a fight is made, pick up the phone and get serious.Comment

fair enough. Its just when you see so many of the same responses defending only their point of view, you know. my bad. didnt mean to knock you. I know generalizing sucks, but got to agree that most of the time it is accurate when dealing with #'s.Dude, what the hell are you talking about???? Yes I know that, but Sergio isn't just some random guy tweeting Floyd.EXACTLY, we don't know. I never said Sergio has done everything, but he has offered an 80-20 split as well as a catch weight as low as 150 publicly. I can't know if he means it or not, but I assume he really wants to fight Floyd since he is 38 and looking for big money fights. He just isn't going to keep on talking about it constantly.
I really do think the ball is in Floyd's court. I'm pretty sure Sergio would take the fight if offered and he has been asking for it.Comment

I agree that Sergio really does want the fight, but Lou Dibella knows what to do to get it done, they're not idiots over there. I think Sergio deserves a shot, though I do not want to see the fight at 154 or below. If Floyd's going to fight Sergio, I'd like for it to be a t 160, but I do know the likelihood of him jumping up that high in weight is very unrealistic. For me, this is a fantasy fight due to size. Floyd fights Sergio below 160 and somehow wins, he'll receive little to no credit from the critics.Yes I know that, but Sergio isn't just some random guy tweeting Floyd.

it's all good my man, it's hard to decipher between boxing realists and the sheep on this site.Comment

Floyd said he would consider fighting Sergio Martinez but at a 150 catch weight. Floyd ain't going to fight Martinez. I've been saying what Ricky Hatton just said and I never did ******* before in my life. Sergio Martinez is a problem for Floyd Mayweather and posters who know me posting on here should know I've been saying it for a long time. Too late in Floyd's career to take on someone like Martinez but would love to see it happen. I always called the fight a chess match but after seeing him get touched up by Cotto at 154 I don't think that is his best weight.Comment

Nobody believes that because Manny can't even avoid a right hand when he is walking into it. Floyd and Marquez are pretty good at it though. Manny should have watched their fight.Comment
