Floyd's dad and uncles say Floyd would beat Martinez. Martinez has offered to go as low as 150 (as long as Floyd gives him around a year to lose weight in a healthy manner, but that would really be stretching it) and Floyd has said the fight is possible at a catch weight back in May. Of course, he also said Sergio should fight Dirrell first, but that is probably similar to how he said Amir Khan should fight Vargas.
Martinez' team has said he would lose to Ward. Also, Ward isn't even sure he can make 164, although he did offer it (recently he said he thinks Martinez is too small and that he is going to be moving up soon anyway). He definitely can't make 160 and he is 9 years younger than Martinez, so that would be a very difficult fight for Martinez when you factor that in with his skills and size. Conversely, Floyd actually has a slight advantage on Martinez in terms of age (they are close enough in age that I would not knock Floyd for making him come down).
If Floyd gives Martinez the time he asks for to lose the weight in a healthy manner then I have no problems.
There will always be haters, so I don't see how mentioning how some won't give him credit for beating Martinez is relevant. People are also attacking the Guerrero fight just as they did the Ortiz fight. At least Martinez is considered a top P4P fighter.
