I hate when boxing is dead during the year.

It's dead for a couple of weeks, right? Apparently, boxing has some kind of season and off-season thing going on. Someone please elaborate. What periods throughout the years is boxing dead? We had that little run from November through December where it was back to back boxing events going on. Why is it dead sometimes?

I can't wait for January 19th, though. Salido. Golovkin.

I think it's because of Christmas and New Years (people are away, partying, etc.) and also it's NFL playoff season in January, so it makes business sense not to compete with it.

Jan-Feb, are fairly quiet when it comes to big fights(mainly because fighters like the christmas period off and arent training during then in my opinion)
      March , things lighten up..
      April-June is usually action packed
      July fairly good
      August quiets down
Then september usually picks up and october and then #
November and December usually where the action pack fights are .

Its like a cycle every year

I would say boxing is always pretty slow in Jan to the end of March. Picks up in April and usually for what ever reason their's not to much boxing in August. Then it picks up in September all the way to December. Plus you have fights that get rescheduled because of fighters getting hurt in training camp.
