He might KO Rigo but I don't think he can stop Mares, Donaire has trouble with guys who smother him, Mares in his last fight showed he is not scared to press hard, he smothers guys like crazy and is very aggressive he won't give Nonito any space to breath or to load any power on his left hook.
The only time I seen Nonito have trouble is when a guy can really smother him hard closing the gap.Comment

listen this guy keeps repeating rigondeux hasn't fought anyone e's a nobody he's a boring fighter. then he goes around and fights arce. arce is old and holds NO BELT.
who's rigondeux? he holds the WBA belt
Arce held 0 BELTS and got his ass beat by that puerto rican in his previous fight then weaseled his way out of the fight
donaire can keep trying to fool the public with these lame ass excusses but at thte end of the day donaire hasn't even made an attempt to fight rigo nor does he want any part of him.Comment

Oh no, in the mexican tv interview at ringside he didn´t mention Rigo, Mares, nothing. When he was asked what was next he just said "126 here I come".He said if the Rigo fight can't be made, and also Mares, then he would move to 126.
Philstar.com “That’s [Donaire-Rigondeaux] the fight I want to happen, but I know not to wait for anyone. If they can’t make the fight happen, then I’ll move up in weight [to featherweight].”Comment

what was the point of having Rigondeaux scheduled to fight as the co-headliner? If Top Rank/Donaire had a master plan of ducking Rigondeaux, why would they showcase him on the same card? Makes no sense. Maybe, just maybe, the point was to showcase Rigondeaux to set up a Donaire clash.Comment

I would think it would be his people not Donaire himself that is reticent about that fight. It is not even about Donaire winning or losing but the best he could look would be like the Narvaez fight and could look worse, that really doesn't help Donaire's career advance it wouldn't kill his career either but why bother with that sort of fight until Rogondeaux is actually in some sort of demand.Comment
