That guy is not safely making 154 or below.
He could have a few years ago but yeah he hasnt fought at 154 in almost 4 years. Its because people have been talking about this fight for almost that much time that they forget how long its been now.

Again, he may very well have to sacrifice muscle mass, but you should also show a picture of Chavez at 158. I know Sergio is a much older man, but he probably wouldn't look like that at 154 or 152 (definitely difficult) especially if you give him a year to cut weight. At least I don't think so.

That's always been the case. Everyone knows Martinez is the name that can elevate Floyd to the stars. He's also the only marketable fighter that can beat Floyd. That's why Floyd will fight ginger instead.

I just don't think the fight will ever materialize. Both are getting up there in age, and are in different weight classes. I don't see Floyd revisiting 154 unless it's for Cinna-Buns.

You are probably right, but I hope you're wrong.

Sergio is not going to call out Floyd for the fight any longer, but I still think he wants it. Floyd also won't have that many options after Canelo.

It is possible Sergio could still make 154 relatively comfortably. He doesn't look terribly weight-drained when he comes into his weigh-ins at 159 unlike say a Chavez who looks like a stick. His position is that he won't come down until he gets a big money fight down there. Floyd and Canelo are the only two options in that regard, so there hasn't been reason for him to test the waters.
If Martinez was given a year to lose the weight then it would be Mayweather was fighting a guy who was coming off a 12 months lay off and a guy who hasn't compete at 154 in four years lol, seriously he can't please everyone so no point in trying, I would rather see this fight at 160 because it would enhance Mayweather legacy even more, no point in fighting at 154 because Martinez would be a zombie, and Mayweather never asked Martinez to come down to 150 like you claimed.

You guys are ****ing crazy. Sergio makes 154 with ease. I can't even believe I am hearing that he would have trouble. Dude weighed 157 just the fight before Chavez.

Guys like Kirkland and Canelo are bigger then Martinez. The excuses for not fighting Martinez just keep rolling out.

Mayweather said in the build-up to the Cotto fight that Martinez was "possible at a catchweight" and then said Martinez should fight Andre Dirrell before him though. Similar to how he used Jesse Vargas with Khan.

He weighed 167 against Chavez I believe. 167 is the heaviest he comes in though. Typically weighs 165-167 at MW.
