Comments Thread For: Abner Mares-Victor Terrazas Could Head To a Purse Bid

All Mares needs to do is keep throwing those low blows because the ref doesn't seem to notice. The World Boxing Council could very well order a purse bid for the fight between WBC super bantamweight champion Abner Mares and his official challenger, Victor "Viking" Terrazas. Mares wants to unify with WBO champion Nonito Doniare, but Terrazas' promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, is likely going to push the issue with his fighter securing a long awaited shot. Mares (25-0-1, 13KOs) won the title in April and made a vonuntary defense in November. Terrazas (36-2-1, 21KOs) won the WBC's silver title last year with a victory over Fernando Montiel and then he won a final WBC eliminator in April with Jose Palma.

This is another hindrance for possible face-off between Nonito and Mares. I think Mares needs to fight his official challenger first just to retain his title, otherwise if his belt stripped by his refusal to defend his belt, then Nonito might lose interest fighting him because Nonito this time is for the titles. But this would take for some time before negotiation between the two camps will starts to kick in. For the main time therefore, Mares vs Terrazas and Nonito vs Rigo face-off aren't bad at all! Let the champions meet next will be more interesting! Nice fights on 2013!

yeah but this is now a mandatory,it wasn't back then, terrazas isn't a bad fighter,he would have given donaire a better fight than mathebula or arce did,but I still think donaire beats everybody at 122Comment
