If Oscar and Schaefer would go along with it I really believe he would fight Trout. I think Canelo gives Oscar the final say because Oscar sort of discovered him. I think Oscar was one of his boyhood heros and he looks up to him and will go along with Oscar's wishes. I don't think Canelo fears any boxer. Oscar may not like a Trout fight because it's a high risk, low reward type of fight. Canelo is my favorite young boxer and I believe in his ability. I wish Golden Boy would let him prove himself and fight the best available and that is Trout.Trout is from my state of New Mexico and we don't get very many top boxers worth bragging about so I wish Trout well.

I say Cotto. Since Cotto is coming off of a loss it is a good undercard fight. Alvarez-Trout is a main event type fight. And I can't see Cotto getting a bigger fight at this point aside from Martinez or Chavez Jr. Chavez is way too big and he stands literally no chance against Martinez. Chavez would stop him late and Martinez makes him Pacquiao. Alvarez on the other hand is a more competitive fight style wise, and he's undefeated.

I just read on boxing scene that Cotto wants to take a long break from boxing before thinking about his next move. I got the impression May 4th would be to soon for Cotto unless Golden Boy makes him a really great offer and even then Cotto may not want to return so soon. Cotto said nothing about May 4th or Canelo.
