Well its only a matter of determination and discipline on the part of IKE but it will take him some time to get back in shape, by that time he would be aging... of course he can still knock out some but not all specially with SKILLED and TACTICAL fighters... but the the way i saw it, i think that would be the end for IKE....

any one know when he gets out?? what did you think of him was he the real deal ?. if so would he have beat Lewis ? can he come back now and be as affective ?

* The 1st time I saw and heard of Ike was against Tua
(I was there nosebleed section). What really impressed
me was Tua's punching power, yeah I've seen David Tua
on the job many times prior to the Ibeabuchi fight but
only on t.v. and hearing and seeing the guy punch is
something else, it had a different sound to it.
The fight was very close and some tough rounds
to score.




I saw the Byrd vs. Ibeabuchi fight on t.v. and I was
more impressed w/ his victory against Byrd than w/ Tua.

Say bye-bye to Ike, the Prez who never was, but coulda been. He talks to tweety birds who fly around his noggin now as he makes baskets, and if this country ever gets tired of paying his keep, they'd better deport him to Nigeria or he'll get shot doin' that stuff around here.

I think he would definitely be heavyweight champ right now. The man had the best physique of any fighter I've ever seen. He trade bombs WILLINGLY with Tua and won. Offensively, he KILLED Byrd, something even Wladimir Klitschko didn't and couldn't do. Those two performances alone tell me there's not a heavyweight from the past 20 years who could have handled Ike. I definitely think he would have KO'ed Lewis. Shame we lost him because we NEED a legit champ, and Ike would have fought every last one of them.

Ike was a good fighter, but he wasn't great, very beatable by a fighter that could move and didn't fall asleep in the ring like Byrd did.

I don't think thats true at all with respect. Ike had very fast hands for a guy his size. Chris Byrd was losing that fight on the scorecards when Ibeabuchi landed that uppercut, he was landing on Byrd consistantly, which was slowing Byrd down. some people who have not watched the fight make it sound like Foreman vs Moorer, but that wasn't the case at all, it was Ike who was winning anyway.

Ike looked to have the full package, good power, good handspeed, relentless punch output, good chin, and he also showed some head movement in the Byrd fight. It's also worth pointing out that Byrd was probably at his peak in this fight. Ike had good boxing ability to go with the other tools he had, and we all seen how much trouble David Tua had with Byrd two years later.
Anyone who says Ibeabuchi was ordinary, or was nothing special, is talking out of their ass IMO.

are you joking? he nearly took Byrd's head off...only Wladimir Klitschko has hit Byrd that hard, but Byrd picked himself up from all those punches

IKe had he not gone crazy would have destroyed everyone out there. He applied constant pressure and for a heavyweight he had an amazing punch output. What heavyweight could have stood up to that? Valerie (yellowback quitter) Clitorisko? hell no he could barely handle an out of shape lewis. Wilma Clitoresko? no way we saw what happened when someone punches back and they have enough movement to get in to hit him its bye bye wilma (Note he got turned into a mound of pudding by Cory Sanders. Lennox Lewis? nope he almost got put to sleep by Shanice Briggs. Hariet Rahman? nope he would not stand up to that pressure. Chrissy Byrd? nope the president already dispatched him. Lamont brewster hmmm maybe he would have taken punishment for a few rounds as he can take a hell of a punch for a while at least but even he would have wilted. John Ruiz? no way Hence, if he had not gone to prison the president would have been just that the president of the Heavyweight division.

so true. if you've seen Ibeabuchi walk through Tua's bombs (something no heavyweight ever did against Tua in his prime) and slaughter Byrd (who rarely got TOUCHED in his prime), I don't think you could debate that Ibeabuchi would have stopped Lewis, Tyson, both Klitschko's, Rahman, Brewster, Golota, McCline, Grant, Botha, Ruiz, Valuev, Krasniqi, Williams, Skelton, Harrison, Oquendo, Holyfield, Guinn, Williamson, MAYBE EVEN TONEY all in a week
