Martinez' hip protector

How does he get away with wearing his protector up so high on his waist? Didn't someone complain about this before his last fight?

Don't think it's that bad.

During fights his trunks tend to slide down a little and at times the protector will raise (mainly at the back), but it tends to be fixed.
