    Not really sure how you can say that, Johnson never beaten anyone half decent in his life, cant punch and what he does throw amounts to about 5 punches a round, gases after 2 rounds and even got beat in a club fighters competition (prizefighter). Thompson is rank in the top 10, Johnson is not in anyones top 20 and has not been for ages.

      I also think this is a good step up for Price. TT is not half as bad as people give him to be.
      He can box and if he comes motivated as when he fought Wlad it would be a very good test for Price. I see Price taking it but it won't be an easy task against motivated TT.
      He was regarded as best american HW 6 months ago...

        Johnson should've been a good fight for Fury. It's not Fury's fault Johnson came for the payday alone.

        I think Price will chase Chisora next. He's getting active and improving his opposition. If he only fights twice next year and/or still doesn't step it up by 2014, that's when I'll start worrying.

          I don't care how he's ranked, he's old and shot. He fought Maurice Harris for his Klitschko shot(!) And what's Thompson ever done in general that's much better than Kevin Johnson? Not saying Johnson is anything special, but Thompson isn't any better.

            Good fight for Price. Decent step up.

            People need to remember he has only had 15 fights! and less the 39 rounds in total in those 15 fights. That isn't much at all for a prospect!

            If Thompson was good enough for Wlad a few months ago then why isn't he good enough for a prospect 6 months later?

                Why doesnt Price fight someone who is under 40 and on a winning streak? this will be the 3rd over 40 he has fought in a row
                He follows the example of his idol David Haye, what's wrong?

                  Thompson was Wladimir's mandatory.

                    Then, if following your logic, Price will never get anywhere;
                    Wlad won his first international title in his 17th pro fight, and he won his first world heavyweight championship belt in 2000, at the age of 24.

                    Price fighting one old bum after another won't make him championship material overnight.

                      Come on man, a British/commonwealth title is ahead of an intercontintal HW championship. It's not even an official title. Wlad won his first HW championship at 36 fights - Price has loads of time left so don't give us that. Let him do his thing and work his way up. A 15 fight prospect should never be rushed. Lets not forget - Wlad fought Derrick Lampkins in his 16th fight. David price is fighting a two time world challenger. So actually, he's ahead of Wlad
