I know its another pac-marquez thread mods. Please dont ban me. Feel free to delete or move thread to proper section. I've just always wondered...since there was only 1 second left in the round what would have happened if the bell had rung first.

Would it have been a non-call since they were in the middle of an exchange? Does it becomr a no contest? Or does he get disqualified

very interesting question. i wonder if it would depend on how long after the bell the punch was landed. for example, what if the punch was landed 0.2 seconds after the bell? what if it was landed 2 seconds after the bell? i assume if it was landed 2 seconds after the bell then it would be a DQ, but if it was landed 0.2 seconds after the bell, i find it hard to imagine a DQ happening.

If its 2 sec. After the bell more than likely it would be a no contest. Unless Marquez had been warned before . But it all depends of the noise level and if the punch was started on or before the bell

Pac would still be out cold, and JMM would probably have to be disqualified.

Why would JMM be DQ'd? Assuming the punch landed relatively soon after the bell rang. Shouldn't they just go to the cards since its round 6?

If it's a non call it would still be a ko victory for marquez even if it was after the bell. The only alternatives are disqualification and no contest. Only way it goes to the cards is a cut caused by a headbutt.

Maybe, but that seems harsh. You couldn't let the fight go on, a no contest sounds fairer.

Great question. I can appreciate a thread like this instead of the million Pac threads that have been created lately.

I say it's still a KO victory for Marquez.

This actually happened a few months ago with Mercito Gesta against Ty Barnett and they ruled it a KO.
