Is K9 Bundrage the most avoided or the biggest ducker at 154?

Dude has had his belt for like forever now in a division so loaded with talent it's ridiculous.

Since k9 won his belt the division has seen the rise and/or fall of kirkland, angulo, williams, martinez, lara, jacobs, trout, cotto, mayweather, cintron, and canelo. And you're telling me in a span of roughly 2 years k9 couldnt land a fight with any of thrm???

So is he being avoided? Or does he want no part of the legitimate field of contenders??

IMO he has been victim of very very poor managment.

On the other hand i think he loses against any A class fighter and of course to any Elite fighter he would look just terrible.

But yeah it catches my eye too that he has been able to keep that title for as long as he has.

He's one of the worst current beltholders in boxing. He won his title from Corey Spinks who beat DeAndre Lattimore (lol) in a vacant title match. And his only defense is against Spinks (lol).

There is a clause in his contract that he cannot fight Erislandy Lara (lol). Plus, he's avoided Austin Trout and several other contenders in hopes of cashing out against Mayweather, Canelo or Cotto (lol). He's basically using his IBF Championship as a lottery ticket.

Now after all that waiting, he has a fight scheduled against Ishe Smith (lol). And on Fight Hype, he said that he wants Mayweather next (lol).

On one hand, dude is delusional. On the other hand, you can kind of see where he's coming from wanting to cash out and retire at his age. It just goes to show you there's too many damn belts in the sport of boxing. This is the result.

Same with angulo. We saw how hard of a time the silva kid gave him. Kirkland is free, lara is free. but they pick ishe smith???

It's a joke. He's babysitting that title in hopes that one day he will get a phone call from Cotto, Mayweather or Canelo. His wish might just come true with Cotto. That would be a very logical next step for Miguel. But even then, Austin Trout got $240K for the Cotto fight. I can't see K9 getting much more than that. How long can you live off $240K?

For that kind of money he could have given up his belt and fought gomez who isnt a top contender but would have given him roughly the same purse since gomez is pretty big draw in the hispanic community, perhaps more if they play up the contender show angle, and at least gives him an opportunity to help his case landing canelo if he's impressive.
